On Friday, June 24th,  the Good Neighbor Project volunteers took eight youth to the San Diego County Fair at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.  This year’s theme, “Mad About the Fair”, was based on the Alice in Wonderland story.

The first thing that the GNPSD group did when they arrived was to stop by the animal displays.  The kids were especially interested in the dogs and cats that were available for adoption and enjoyed petting them. Once they were done loving on the animals, they moved along to the Swifty Swine Racing Pigs  pig races.  The kids cheered on the pigs and showed extra support by wearing their own pig noses.  After the races they stopped and got their picture taken with one of the pigs.

After eating mile high fries and corn dogs, the group moved along to the rides.  They spent the rest of the evening there and left right before the close of the event.  They all had a great time and can’t wait to do it again.
